LONDON TRADITION RECEIVES QUEEN’S AWARD

FOOD POISONING OUTBREAK INVESTIGATED


AROUND 139 diners are alleged to have been struck down with food poisoning after eating at an Indian restaurant. Thirteen customers are said to have needed hospital treatment, while 17 in all were confirmed as having picked up a strain of E.coli bacteria. The Khyber Pass restaurant in


Nottingham was ordered to close by magistrates until further notice and Public Health England is working with Nottingham City Council to investigate the causes of the outbreak. Nottingham City Council’s food and health and safety team have said the closure of the premises helped contain the problem. n
