WELCOME FROM THE WORLDWIDE PRESIDENT W

hen you have finished reading your latest print copy of Foodservice Consultant, perhaps you

might also consider downloading the new app too? I recommend that you do. The app, now live, is a new addition to FCSI’s Foodservice Consultant suite of products and services and we believe it will be seriously beneficial to members. As a Society we’ve made massive strides in the last two years in bringing FCSI up to date and making it more relevant for you, our members. However, I’d like to sound a word of caution. We cannot afford to sit back and relax. Our world is changing around us and with significant pace. To keep abreast of change we must continue to innovate and drive forward with new ideas, new initiatives and new benefits. Whether you work locally, nationally or internationally, FCSI will support you in the promotion and development of your services, products and professional status.

FROM THE REGIONAL CHAIR

We are excited to see the benefits the app will bring to your business and I urge you to get involved as soon as possible by downloading the app. The “find a member” global search function will be of particular benefit. The app will use members’ profile information from the fcsi.org website, so make sure that your profiles are fully up to date!

Professional members can also update their app profiles with ‘extra content’ by providing imagery and text for up to 10 showcase projects. This function is free to professional members for the first year and thereafter a small fee will be charged. It’s a fantastic marketing tool to show potential clients. The Foodservice Consultant app is

available on Apple iOS devices from the Apple iTunes Store and later this year the app will also be available on Android devices from Google Play. It’s your FCSI, so get involved and reap the benefits.

MARTIN RAHMANN FCSI Chairman

FCSI Europe, Africa, Middle East

Since I took over as President of FCSI EAME in Warsaw last year we have been working hard to shape the future of our division. First, I want to thank you for electing Helge Pahlke FCSI as the new treasurer. Helge succeeds Michael Flatow FCSI, who held the office for four years. On behalf of you all I’d like to thank Michael for his commitment and time. Helge is a trained chef and worked as a managing partner at K3 in Berlin as kitchen and interior designer. After his training as a chef, he completed a multi-year business degree, which will help him in his work as treasurer.

Although much work lies ahead for us this year, we are already focusing towards a year full of events in 2015. I am happy and proud to announce our EAME Conference, which will take place in Madrid, Spain between 26-29 March 2015. After a successful conference in

Warsaw, I hope you will note this date and pledge your participation for the success of the event. Duncan Ackery FCSI and his team are working on the design of the programme. The theme of the conference is Young Talents. We want to create good workshops and attract competent keynote speakers. Anyone who wants to contribute is

very welcome and can contact me. We will again participate in the

2015 Gulfood and Host trade shows. Both are trendsetters in our industry. The Middle East is one of our fastest growing markets. Trade shows are one of the best ways to sharpen the FCSI brand. Enhancing the brand and adding value for our EAME members is one of the main tasks for the future. Therefore, a taskforce has been formed within the board, which has already developed concrete solutions. We work for you, our members,

so if you have reviews, requests and suggestions, I’m more than happy for you to contact me at Martin@fcsi.eu.
