Bio


Deborah Krikun’s work involves computation- al art, digital media and sensory experiences that trigger cognitive and emotional stimuli. In “Headlights,” Krikun creates an immersive digital/natural environment, with organic materials and an interactive digital screen. Each interactive scene is a progression that leads the viewer to the final end, where Headlights are turned on. Headlights combine computational arts, digital media, and sensory experiences to trigger cognitive and emotional stimuli.

Deborah Krikun is a new media designer, art- ist, and educator. She is Associate Professor of Visual Arts at SUNY Westchester Com- munity College, Center for the Digital Arts in Peekskill, New York. Krikun holds a M.A. in Communications/Computer Graphics from the New York Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Arts Education from New York University. Krikun was a Technical Director for 3D ani- mation and special effects for award-winning studios such as Robert Abel and Associates,


Digital Productions, and Editel. She is a recipient of SUNY’s Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for Special Projects in Education, recognizing her dedication and innovation as a new media educator.
