NMC’s Big Tree Plant day
Hello, welcome to the first NMC News of 2014 bringing you all the news fromthe Neuromuscular Centre, Winsford.
As you turn the pages youwill learnmore about the types of activities NMC provides for its community of people affected bymuscular dystrophy. We did not spend thewintermonths hibernating – following a fantastic response to our fundraising appeal to construct a 110metre accessible boardwalkwe have not only built it,we also had a bit of a ‘do’ tomark its opening.
Looking forward to the summerwe have opportunities for dog owners to participate in one of ourWag nWalk events, enjoy summertime jazz at the Eaton Estate and join in the party at Live in the Park at Arley Hall.
On Sunday 6th April NMC had a tree planting daywhich saw more than 30 volunteers brave a grey looking Sunday morning to plant over 100 trees. Amixture of fruit, oak and birch treeswere planted alongwithwildflower seeds
spread in patches by the children – our gardeners of the future!
Itwas great to see somany volunteers outside enjoying the NMC’s outdoor space and the rain even stayed off! This meant that all the treeswere
planted andwe look forward to seeing themgrowover the summermonths. A huge thank you to the planting team, seed sewers’ and sandwich and teamakers –we couldn’t have done it without you.
As ever, the achievementswe are proud to reportwould not be possiblewithout the tremendous support fromso many people. You’ll not fail to be inspired by thewords of one of our long standing volunteerwho, alongwith so many others enables us to do more. Thanks are sent to everyonewho supports the
NMC andmakes a difference. Lyndsey
