Canada Dominates Florida’s Furusiyya FEI Nations’ Cup


Wellington, FL, March 1, 2014 — The Canadian show jumping team com- prised of Yann Candele, Tiffany Foster, Eric Lamaze and Ian Millar dominated a starting field of 12 countries to win the $75,000

Nations’ Cup, presented by G &C Farm, held Friday night, February 28, at the 2014 FTI Consulting Win- ter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Canada finished the


two-round competition with a total of eight faults, followed by Great Britain in second with nine faults and the United States in third with 12 faults. The win marked the sixth victo- ry for Canada since the inception of the Nations’ Cup in Wellington in 2002.

OEF Youth Bursary recipients get a leg up to pursue their equestrian goals


Richmond Hill, ON. – The Ontario Equestrian Federation is pleased to present seven juniors from across the province with $1,000 through the OEF Youth Bursary program to help them reach their equestrian goals. “This is such a deserving group of young


horse people and we are thrilled to be able to help them with their equestrian endeavours,” says Dianne Graham, executive director of the OEF. “Supporting the next generation of riders is very important to us and we’re confident these young riders are going to go on to do great things.” Each year the OEF distributes a minimum of

five $1,000 bursaries to youth based on their involvement with horses, their future goals, as well as letters of recommendations from their coaches. Family resources and academic achievements are also considered. The bursaries can be used towards riding lessons, clinics, competition fees, continuing education and other activities that will help them develop their skills.
