REGIONALFOCUSNORTHEAST

Keeping mum on mam REGIONAL accents can cause issues when it comes

to greetings cards – and Riverside have now met the requests from customers in Co Durham, Tyne And Wear and Northumberland for “mam” designs. “Although this is a regional request, the customers

won’t buy ‘mum’ cards instead,” said MD Carl Birks, “we’re now installing these into circa 750 sites. “Riverside is delighted to introduce a small range of designs which will launch in June and are available on direct shipment or delivered direct to your door via our unique merchandising solution. “The north-east has been a really diffi cult area to

grow over the last few years due to the tough economic times hitting this area proportionally worse than the rest of the country. “This doesn’t however stop the fact that great designs still sell well and convenience is an ever- growing market for greetings cards.

“We supply small, medium and large convenience shops in the main, but more recently our portfolio of over 500 designs has attracted a larger number of independent card shops.” Riverside have three area merchandisers who cover

the area with a combined experience of 30 years. Richard Watson (top right) joined the business in 1998 and covers mainly County Durham and parts of Newcastle, Jayne Dixon has been with them for more than 11 years and her area includes Yorkshire’s North and East Ridings, while Derek Porter (bottom right) has looked after Northumberland since August 2011. With this experience and coverage, Riverside is the choice when it comes to consignment greetings cards up to fi ve metres from value range to premium. T: 01924 840500 www.riversidecards.com
