Andy Milne, MD Nigel Quiney, Glick and Spice Studios There was a special send off for Andy Milne as PG Live was the last time the ex-pro footballer will attend a trade show as an exhibitor with retirement pending in July after 17 years in charge at Nigel Quiney. Chris Dyson, Cardgains’ joint MD, is pictured (left) proposing a toast after spilling the beans on Andy’s not-so-secret passions of football, racing, wine, Jaffa Cakes and dolly mixtures.

Penny Shaw, Cardgains “We’ve had a few more potential members so it’s good to see what they say. We like to get the mix of diff erent suppliers right. We have to fi nd someone new and fresh that can also provide the service because it’s all about the service for us.”

David Worthington, Avanti Press “We did some good business on Tuesday and it was all new business which was great as that was the aim this time. People are fi nding that it’s so different because of the US angle, it gives the designs a different fl avour. This is our sixth year in the UK market and we’re getting recognised for being a solid profi table brand producing good selling results.”

Steve Baker Pigment Productions “Very good show, we’ve had a great show and seen just about everybody we need to. It’s been nice as we’ve seen some independents and export. Tuesday was just fl at out all day.”

Chris Fenner & Sarah Glennie of Fenner Paper with Karen McHale of Rosie Robbins “We had whole pallet of Colorset Spring Green paper and board on display and ran a competition to guess the number of sheets - some entrants were rather worried they might have to take the whole thing home on the Tube if they won! There were 2,242 sheets on the pallet, and Jack Tattersall of Timbergram guessed the closest number at 2,253. Jack was really delighted to have won and is now trying to decide which papers from the Fenner ranges to spend his £500 on.”

Lynne Thomas, Tomcat Cards “We didn’t know what to expect before we came, but we’ve been getting really good feedback and all the agents are raring to get the new acrylics range out there. The rest of our ranges are watercolours but they still have a sense of humour about them.”

Damon Evison CardCreator By LiveLink “It’s really good, it’s always a pleasure to demonstrate the kiosk and its capabilities. This is a new hybrid that does greetings cards and photo products and instant photo prints. We’ve had a pleasing level of interest and are quite excited about the rest of the year.”

Ton Hollander & Robert Aaftink Artige

“This is our fi rst international fair, we are distributors in Holland selling in different shops everywhere there, but have our own design team so made a few of our own collections for export. It’s been a good show, Tuesday morning was really busy.”

Stephen Haines with Poppet the Moshi Monster, Carte Blanche “It’s been a great show and for us all the activity has been around the 3D cards so it’s great that we’ve launched Moshi Monsters in 3D here, it’s another brand for us that will stop people in their tracks.”
