West Cheshire U3A The next meeting of WCR U3A will be held in The Barbour Institute, Tattenhall on Thursday 19th June. This month’s speaker is Mr Andy Jones on Royal Yacht Britannia. The meeting starts at 2pm with light refreshments.

Bunbury WI The group meets at 7.30pm on the 2nd Thursday of every month in the Bunbury Pavilion.

The main

part of our evening is a talk or demonstration, with some brief WI business, followed by delicious refreshments prepared by Members. New ground was broken when Nantwich Dabber Dames WI were invited to join Bunbury for a joint Resolutions Meeting in May. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet Members of another local WI and to discuss together the 2014 Resolution before taking separate votes to take forward to the Annual Meeting. Tea, entertainment and chat followed while new friendships were forged. On Thursday, 12th June, Chris Smith will speak on the subject of “Canals of the North West” and on Thursday, 10th July, Sue Mallows will talk and demonstrate on “Calligraphy”. Some outings have already been organised for later in the year, including a tour of Roberts Bakery in September. A visit to the home of the very first UK Women’s Institute in Llanfair PG, Anglesey, is eagerly anticipated in July. The WI is a great way to meet like-minded women, make new friends, listen to a variety of interesting speakers, enjoy some of the many organised activities or join other smaller groups for reading, keep-fit, quizzing, luncheons, etc. For more information please call Lesley Moore on 01829 262514 or simply come along to one of our meetings.

Kelsall Bridge Club The club meets at the Community Centre on Tuesdays for Chicago Bridge, and Thursdays for Duplicate. 7-10pm both evenings. Contact Nick Mayfield on 01829-752105.
