The crowd’s enthusiasm built with excitement, cameras were at the ready, and although it was not a photo finish for the winner, second and third ducks were split by just a beaks’ length, followed by the fourth prize winner.

Nick (RN Rtd) was left the lonesome job of retrieving the contestants left in the rushes, up the backwater, or caught in tree boughs in the river. A great race, and many thanks to all who prepared the course, sold and bought tickets and duck calls and helped clear up.

A total of 4,700 ducklings were hatched, 4,200 by The Rotary Club of Faringdon & District,

450 by ROSY, and 55 by The Air Ambulance.

Winners were 1st Prize – Frank O’Connor, 2nd Prize – Eleanor Green 3rd Prize – Jay Lee, 4th Prize - Lindy Macnamee.

I once was informed that a complaint had been received that our Newsletters are too long, well whoever that may have been, they will no doubt be a little put out by this tome!!

and successful club will result in a lengthy Newsletter.

The Newsletter simply reflects and reports on events that we have undertaken during the period this Newsletter is covering, so belonging to a very active I make no apologies for that.

I have omitted the usual ‘Who’s Who’ and ‘Rotarian Revealed’ this time round, but I could not refuse to publish any of the great contributions received, and I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed editing it.
