Once again, we were able to provide a very successful party for some Senior Citizens in our community. Our special thanks go to Gillian Peaston, who this year took on the responsibility of the organisation, corralling members and their partners to provide a copious supply of sandwiches and cakes. All were delicious. Gillian with others, spent most of the day working hard behind the scenes in the kitchen.

Thanks also to all those that responded to Ken’s appeal for help with transporting the elderly to and from their homes. I heard many guests offering their heartfelt thanks to Rotary and saying that this event is really appreciated and anticipated with great joy.

We were entertained by the ‘Sisters of Swing’. This trio were very talented singers who sang a variety of songs, often

encouraging us all to join in with some well-known songs. During the second half of their act, they dressed up in military costumes, which added a little nostalgia to their performance.

The usual raffle then took place with many Easter Eggs and bottles of Wine being distributed

by

Rotarians. Big Duck (Nigel) and a few others, were successful in selling tickets to our forthcoming Duck Race.

Thanks to all those that helped to make this another successful event in the Community Committees calendar.
