A BETTER CAREER VARIOUS ROLES, UK-WIDE OPPORTUNITIES

GLL currently run over 120 leisure facilities and employ over 6,000 staff throughout the UK, making us the country’s largest leisure provider. GLL work in partnership with many local authorities - we run a mix of leisure centres, libraries, swimming pools, recreation grounds and world-class sports venues including the London Aquatics Centre and Copper Box Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – all under the Better brand. We are an independent charitable, social enterprise. This makes us different to most other employers in the industry meaning that we are ‘staff owned’. And as we’re a not-for-profi t organisation, we invest the money that we make back into our community facilities and projects. Every employee that joins our Society can feel part of the running of the organisation – this in turn means that we have a loyal and happy workforce who feel very much part of who we are and what we do. We’re as committed to our people as we are to the community.

We invest in our people throughout their career and offer formal, accredited training as well as a continuous development plan in the majority of our roles. We like to grow and promote staff from within and we have many examples of people who have worked their way up through the company to hold senior positions.

We have a variety of different roles and different contracts to suit everyone.

We have our successful two-year Trainee Manager Scheme which is a great opportunity for graduates to learn about all aspects of the leisure industry; our Recreation Apprentice Scheme for those of you who aren’t graduates; full and part-time, permanent roles as a gateway into a fulfi lling career, and; casual vacancies that are perfect for when you’re still studying as you can work as many or as little hours to suit you.

GLL are an equal opportunities employer and applications are encouraged from all sections of the community. 27
