It learns how the cabinet is being used – such as how often the door is opened during specific periods – and forecasts conditions to run as efficiently as possible. The controller also has an oversized LED screen with simple controls so it is user friendly.

On display at Adande Refrigeration (stand 2535) will be the VCS2CW two-drawer unit, which can feature blast chill in the bottom drawer and can therefore offer four-in-one capability: fridge, freezer, a blast chiller and prep station. All Adande insulated drawer units combine fridge and freezer capability, with adjustable temperatures from -22°C to +15°C. Blast chill is also an optional extra, providing four in one flexibility. The design ensures cold air is maintained, effectively ‘wrapping’ the food and extending shelf life, improving quality, saving waste and reducing energy consumption by 40-60% compared to conventional refrigeration. These differences are most extreme in hot, busy kitchen environments where refrigeration needs to be frequently accessed.


Mars Foodservice (stand 4867), owner of Uncle Ben’s and Dolmio, will not only be demonstrating the versatility of the Uncle Ben’s and Dolmio ready-to-use sauces and quick-to-cook rice, but will be inviting caterers to sample the new Uncle Ben’s RiceTime and Dolmio PastaVita pot snacks and enter a free draw to win a Panasonic commercial microwave worth £1,165. As part of the company’s support for The Trussell

Trust Foodbank, which has provided three days’ emergency food to over 600,000 people in crisis since April 2013, the team will also be inviting caterers to the stand to demonstrate what they can make with the contents of an emergency food parcel. The best entry will be used on the Mars Foodservice website and given to The Trussell Trust to share with foodbank clients.

Visitors can design their own custom cup for free at Custom Print Café. It will be offering free artwork for any custom printed cups designed on the stand, saving a £150 print plate charge.

Meanwhile, the hot zone busts the myth that eco packaging is only suitable for cold, showcasing Vegware’s solutions for hot cabinets, such as ovenable wrap, glassine bags, and hot and crispy pouch. The cold zone brings together deli containers, cold cups and sandwiches wedges, while new additions include wine goblets, bloomer bags, sushi trays and the new jumbissimo straw for the latest bubble tea craze.

Visitors looking for full tabletop solutions should head to EveryWare Global (stand 3268), as it will showcase its roll call of brands, including Sant’ Andrea cutlery and dinnerware, glassware from Anchor Hocking, and Oneida, the largest cutlery producer in the US. The supplier will also be running a £15,000 giveaway to furnish one hospitality outlet with a full set of its premium quality tableware and cutlery. The competition is open to all visitors who come to the stand and sign up to receive EveryWare Global’s monthly newsletter.

Visitors will also be able to take advantage of a special 30% discount for all orders placed during the show, with an additional 10% on brand new products. Elia (stand 2958) will be exhibiting their four new

ranges of cutlery at the show. The four new patterns are made to exacting high standards from the finest quality 18/10 stainless steel. The company will also display their ranges of chinaware, beverage and barware.


Aside from all of the action at the exhibition will be a number of key attractions at the ExCeL. One particular highlight is the Hotelympia Skillery, organised by the Craft Guilld of Chefs, where visitors can see can see both The National Chef of the Year 2013, Hayden Groves, and Young National Chef of the Year 2013, Ben Champkin, take to the stage. Also set to appear will be Michelin-starred British chef Tom Kerridge, national chairman of the Craft Guild of Chefs Christopher Basten, Asian cooking master Cyrus Todiwala OBE, and retiring 2012 NCOTY winner Alyn Williams. The chefs will help operators improve their culinary skills, hone menu creation and increase margins. Audiences will also for the first time be able to watch a Family Food Appreciation Workshop, a new scheme run by the Craft Guild of Chefs in conjunction with LACA that sees professional chefs go into schools to teach children and their parents cooking skills together.
