& ON TRIAL: Yu Spa at Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

Busy parents all deserve some time out to relax and recharge the batteries. In this issue of MADE, mum of three, Carol, gives us the low-down on her visit to Yu Spa.

Yu Spa claims:

Its single and double bed treatment rooms, ozone pool, sauna, steam room, relaxation room and gym offer the perfect place to unwind and de-stress. They suggest you combine your spa visit with a two course lunch at Elliott’s Restaurant to properly pamper yourself.

Carol says:

As a busy mum with three kids, working part time and feeling generally like a taxi service I really felt like I needed some

‘me-time’. Our weekends are precious family time so I was really looking for some pampering while the kids were in school. A small group of my mummy friends and I decided we were going to chill out in style together so we all headed to Yu Spa. We booked the Pamper Yu package for just £65 per person, which gave us plenty time to chill out in the pool, enjoy the sauna and steam room before going for a lovely treatment. I opted for the scalp, neck and shoulder soother with hot stones which was amazing at getting all the knots out and I felt really pampered. Lying in peace on the heated bed with spa music I was just about drifting off before the treatment had started and it felt like I was there for ages. It was just the downtime I needed.

After the treatments we all went to Elliot’s Restaurant for a delicious two course lunch and a glass of Prosecco (or soft drink) and we had a brilliant catch-up together.

The verdict…

The spa day totally recharged our batteries, so we were ready to take on the world again - we will defi nitely be coming back. Although next time I might bring my husband and make use of their couple’s room!
