Crystal Regis is embraced by her father as she shows up at her family home in Grenada, while Keisha George’s mother is lost for words upon her daughter’s surprise return home for Christmas. Kudos to our Marketing department for engaging in such a heart- warming initiative, bringing families together for the holidays

Home for the holidays

Over the Christmas season, Caribbean Airlines partnered with the Grenada Broadcasting Network to give Grenadian nationals living a New York who have not “been home” in a long while the chance to surprise their families in Grenada, by coming home for Christmas. A radio call-in programme was set up whereby listeners gave their background stories and said why they needed to come home for the holidays. The winners, selected by a panel draw, were Keisha George and Crystal Regis. Caribbean Airlines provided return air travel for the winners, and our Grenada team was on hand to welcome the “foreigners” back home.

Caribbean Airlines Jamaica at CTM 2014

Caribbean Airlines Team Jamaica recently participated in Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2014, held in Montego Bay. Touted by former president of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Sir Royston Hopkin as a “huge success” and a “win/win” for all participants, CTM is a forum where leading tour operators come together with Caribbean hoteliers for a two-day period to network, solidify present relationships, and seek new business opportunities. This premier regional tourism trade show, organised by the CHTA, was held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall, from 12 to 14 January. It is the largest and most important business-to- business marketing event for the region’s hospitality industry.

One love for St Lucia

Caribbean Airlines recently concluded a donation drive to send supplies to our St Lucian counterparts, after devastating flooding which affected thousands. All the supplies collected were shipped on Monday 13 January, and we salute our Station Standards department and our airport teams for spearheading and facilitating the successful transport of the items. Special thanks go to Keith Horsford, Kerwin Lee Poy, and Colin Mills (left) as well as Stephen Bedecee (not pictured), for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of the much-needed supplies. The compassion and generosity displayed during this project show that at Caribbean Airlines we are not just a team, we are a family.
