o you have what it takes to cycle the Classic Cols of the Tour de France? Join Team Macmillan for this extremely


demanding cycle challenge; tackling mountain climbs in the heart of the French Alps. Each presents its own test but the spectacular views of peaks, valleys and glaciers will make it all worthwhile. Our challenge ends with two of the most renowned ascents in the region: the Col du Galibier and the steep hair-pin bends of Alpe d’Huez. Conquering these mountains will leave a life-long sense of achievement and rank you alongside the most elite cyclists! It’s an unforgettable challenge and you’ll feel on top of the world knowing you have done something truly amazing for people affected by cancer.

More than one in three of us will get cancer at some stage in our lives. It’s the toughest fi ght most of us will ever face and the feelings of loneliness and isolation, that so many people experience, make it that much harder. That’s why the Macmillan team is here, every step of the way.


HOW TOUGH IS THE CHALLENGE? We won’t lie – Cycle the Alps is extremely challenging and it’s vital you don’t underestimate how tough this ride will be. The route is designed to be challenging for those of good health and fi tness, and is achievable for most people provided they train well in advance. Each day includes at least two mountain climbs, which vary in diffi culty, and it’s crucial that you are thoroughly prepared. Training for the challenge is all part of the preparation and requires commitment. Without it, you will fi nd the ride less enjoyable – and we want you to have the time of your life. To help, we will supply you with a detailed training guide when you sign up.


From the nurses and therapists helping people through treatment to the experts on the end of the phone – we provide practical, medical, fi nancial and emotional support for people affected by cancer. Now, more than ever, we need people like you to join our team. No one should face cancer alone, and with your support no one will.
