Lorenze & Miriam Barney House, 1913 Frank Mead & Richard Requa 3534 Seventh Avenue


The 1913 Lorenze & Miriam Barney Residence was designed by the prominent San Diego architects Frank Mead and Richard Requa for the son and daughter-in-law of George and Anna Barney. The senior Barneys lived next door at No. 3530 Seventh Avenue. Like their father, sons Lorenze and Philip were involved in real estate and cofounded Barney & Barney Insurance Company, which provided insurance for the 1935- 1936 California Pacific International Exposition in Balboa Park.
