OLD TOWN.TEMECULA The weather man is predicting Snow - Lots of it - in Old Town Temecula

this Holiday Season with Snowbell Rockin Nights at the Temecula Civic Cen- ter. This free Snow, Music and Light show is sponsored by the Temecula Valley Convention and Visitor's Bureau and will be presented at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night through January 4, 2014. Kids can visit with Santa every Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5

p.m. through December 21. Reindeer Antlers and Magic Glasses will be given to kids visiting Santa and are sponsored by the local merchants. The Tahquitz District Boy Scouts will take souvenir photos for a donation and

help Santa in his workshop. Weekends are musical with Dickens carolers,

local choirs, family-oriented entertainment, pup- pet shows and Dynamite Dave. Santa's Electric Light Parade brightens the evening Friday, De- cember 6 at 7 p.m. Pennypickle's Workshop/Temecula Children's Mu-

seum, an award-winning interactive Children's Museum and gift shop, offers unique holiday themed activities throughout the season. By far the most popular event of Winterfest is Winter Wonderland with tons of snow and fun on Friday, December 13 beginning at 5 p.m. at Pennypickle's. This is also the grand opening of

Old Town's seasonal ice rink - "Temecula On Ice" at Town Square. The 3,500 square foot ice rink has hourly sessions and group pro- grams. Check the website www.temeculaevents.org for times, prices and more information. It is open daily through January 5, 2014. Each year the City of Temecula hosts local middle school and high school bands in front of city hall, for a day of holiday tunes during “Com- munity Music Day." Sing-alongs and a few twists to old favorites make the concerts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. a delight. The rink remains open through January 5, 2014 and will be open New Year's Eve and Day.

Temecula's Town Square is also

the scene of a giant New Year's Eve family-friendly event. Forget about Times Square this New Year's Eve and join your neighbors at Temec- ula's newest tradition with the Grape Drop Countdown at City Hall. The celebration offers dancing to the bands: Big Truth, Safety Orange, Cloud and Valley Winds. Additional bands will be playing outside at Mad Madeline's and Sweet Lumpy's. This is a family friendly event

with a party jump, New Year's Eve photo booth, Grazie the balloon artist clown, New Year's Eve hat making, family games, and a magi- cian. Usher in the New Year as a giant illuminated bunch of grapes descends from city hall with an East Coast (9 p.m.) and midnight count- down. All activities at Temecula Town Square are free except the ice rink which will remain open until 1:30 a.m. New Year’s Day. See www.temeculaevents.org for more information or call (951) 678-1456.
