Cushman Music in the Park Fund Children establish music fund in memory of parents.

T

he children of Faun and Phyllis Cushman knew that their parents wanted live music to be a permanent part of the culture of the city. After Phyllis’s death in 2012, they honored their parents by creating a fund to support the Platteville Music in the Park Series. The series,

sponsored by the Platteville Main Street Program, features a different local band each Thursday night during the summer in Platteville’s City Park

Applying for a Grant or Scholarship

Nonprofit organizations are always welcome to apply for grants from any of the Community Foundation funds for which they may be eligible. Grant application deadlines vary. Start at the home page of the Community Foundation’s website, www.cfsw.org. Under the Grants tab find your county. Each county page has a list of funds that use a competitive grant selection process. The Open Grant Applications page, also in this section, will tell you what’s in season and link you to qualification information and the application form.
