Junior Scrooges urgently needed The Riverside Youth Theatre needs new recruits for its next play, A Christmas Carol. Normally over- subscribed, the club of budding actors need to boost cast numbers because of an overlap in productions. “A Christmas Carol is a fantastic classic, is fun for

the kids and will be wonderful for the audience, but this year’s show takes place at a similar time to The Spelthorne and Runnymede Drama Festival, in which we’ve previously won awards,” explains Pete Smith, Chairman of Riverside Youth Theatre (RYT). “The clash means several of the older kids are doubling up in parts, and frankly, as much as they are a willing and enthusiastic group, it’s a lot to ask of them. We would love to see new mem- bers joining” A Christmas Carol takes place on 4-7 December and rehearsals are starting now. RYT has been running for over 30 years, in which time it has won awards and helped hundreds of 12-18 year olds build confi- dence and develop skills they can use for a lifetime – either front or back stage, with technical or set design.
