City of La Mirada SUMMER 2013 Works to Keep Businesses The City of La Mirada
Ensuring La Mirada remains one of the best locations in Southern California for doing business is one of the City’s top priorities.
Keeping open lines of communication with local businesses,
understanding their challenges, and helping to resolve concerns are some of the ways the City accomplishes this goal.
So when the City learned that Beaulieu of America, one of
La Mirada’s leading employers, needed a new building to relocate to in August 2012, City staff immediately went to work identifying office buildings within La Mirada that would meet the company's needs.
Working with Beaulieu’s corporate office headquarters near Atlanta, Georgia, City staff recommended an available building located near Beaulieu’s existing location that met the company’s space requirements and logistical needs. Further, City staff was able to meet with the building’s broker at the City-sponsored Brokers Breakfast held in September. Here, staff expressed their support for Beaulieu's valuable contributions to the community.
In October 2012, only two months after the City first learned of
Beaulieu’s leasing challenge, the company and the property owner of the new office building signed an agreement, keeping Beaulieu in La Mirada. Beaulieu began operating its new facility in January.
