PRESIDENT CELEBRATES WITH A CURRY

AS part of celebrations to mark his 52nd birthday President Barack Obama took his wife Michelle to Rasika, a Washington curry restaurant owned by a New Delhi-born restaurateur, Ashok Bajaj. Ashok opened the award-winning establishment, which is said to showcase Indian fare with a modern twist, in December 2005 and it has since become a popular haunt for Washington’s rich and powerful. While the VIP visit was kept secret until after they

arrived, a large crowd of people eager to catch a glimpse of the President and First Lady gathered across the street from the restaurant. As the couple dined in a private room at the restaurant, it is not known what dishes they ordered. n
