Oakwood Artist League - “It’s A Small World”

OAL artists with paintings for “It’s a Small World” art show on October 19. Come see Oakwood Artists League’s

fi rst “It’s a Small World” art show on October 19, from 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Oakwood Arts and Crafts Painting Room. The paintings will all be “small” paintings. Prices will be reasonable and there will be a variety of subjects and mediums. There will also be booths set up in the courtyard with many of our artists showing larger artwork. We hope that our new neighbors who attend the IronOaks Open House that day will stop by to enjoy our work. We are also pleased to announce that

we have once again been asked to show our artwork at ASU Gammage. We have shown at ASU Gammage four times before and received rave reviews. We will hang the show on November 20, and take it down on December 23. You may see our artwork when you attend a show or by calling 480-965-0458 or 480-965-4050 for

exhibit hours. Welcome back to our 40 members. We

have four new members, Jill Curcio, Pauline Guess, Janet Myrick and Susan Plouzek. We look forward to discussing and trying their new ideas and techniques. The “Fresh Eyes Friday” critique will

be the fi rst Friday in October. Members help other artists in OAL by giving tips on artwork to those who want a “fresh eyes” look at a painting. “Something New” on the fourth Friday

in October will focus on alcohol ink techniques and surfaces to use it on. We’ve tried this medium before but our members have asked to try it again. We are at maximum capacity according

to our by-laws. If you are interested in learning about our club and/or would like to be on our waiting list, call Diane Hitt at 802-7080. 
