Performing Arts League upcoming events schedule

Mary Scala I know that many of our PAL members

have been trying to fi nd our column for the past couple of months. Well, kind and caring friends, the board of directors has been wondering about the same thing. Where did it go? Has it been hiding? No, the fault is mine. I must confess I have not sent an article in because I had a medical problem and have been kind of milking it. Not because I have stopped caring about all our wonderful members and friends. I just didn’t think I could handle the cruel and inhuman treatment the board of directors would send my way. Well, you could have knocked me over

with a feather. They who must be obeyed have been wonderful. They have been very understanding and have amazed me so much that I am rarin’ to go. First, let me tell you about the coming

season. Opera, Ballet and Coffee Classics are now on order and will be sent out very soon. As you know, these tickets are bought in a series so that we can get the best discount. However, as a member of PAL you can get a ticket directly from the theater and come to any show with us on the bus. Membership is only $10 a single and $15 a couple and once you are a member the bus is only $20 roundtrip.

Remember: The next board meeting/ homeowners meeting is at 4:00 p.m.

in

the Oakwood Clubhouse on Wednesday, November 18. The 2014 budget to be discussed as well as upcoming election. The fi nal meeting for 2013 is Wednesday,

December 18, at 4:00 p.m. in the Oakwood Clubhouse. Election time for new board members: We will be having an election for two

spots at the end of this year. Please consider joining our board. Send in a brief resume/ biographical sketch to both Karine Williams and copy to me and we will see you get the proper form to complete. We need this information no later than October 5,

to

see that all forms for those interested are completed and ballots can be set up. Our November 18 meeting will be a perfect time to meet

the candidates with voting to be

completed by the fi rst week of December. All property owners that are current on their dues are eligible to volunteer to serve on the board. Karine’s email is karinewilliams@msn.com.

My address for villa business is acunit37@aol. com. Important reminder: Please do not park

where the signs state there is “no parking” (Vacation Way, Serenity Way, Harmony Way, and Pleasant Way are no parking on either side). Other streets have marked areas where it is okay to park. Several times there have been problems for our emergency vehicles because someone has blocked the street. If you have someone working within your residence, and you are in a no parking area, please have them park in your driveway. Please remember: The stop signs we have

in the villas do mean stop! Lawn care update: Currently we have

planted over 700 plants as well as having some areas re-sodded. Within the next few weeks, David Jacobesen and his crew will be cutting back the summer grass and then start re-seeding for the fall/winter season. Special note: We will not have Core Pest

control speaking at our board meeting. Since the contract was established by individual homeowners, the board felt it best that Core works with each homeowner who has a contract agreement with him. You can reach John Saxton, owner of Core at 602-594- 4360 or Corepest@yahoo.com if you have any questions regarding your villa’s contract status. If you have never received an email from me (acunit37@aol.com) please

send me

an e-mail with your name, phone number, address and e-mail and I will reply back that you have been added. The Splash article is our standard way of communicating information to all homeowners, but it is always helpful to have updated email information. Thanks. 
