DNAagile Group and DNAsp™ announce partnership

DNAagile Group and DNAsp™ are delighted to announce a strategic partnership that combines 26 years providing software solutions to advanced manufacturing companies with niche software developed specifically for the surface treatment, heat treatment and finishing sectors.

Headquartered in Preston with support offices in the Midlands, Scotland and Wales, DNAsp™ offers low cost configuration and customisation through its offshore development team based in China. Managing Director, Richard Randle who has been providing software solutions to the metal finishing sector for nearly 20 years explained “every business has its own DNA and a one size fits all simply does not work. So we have designed a new system just for special process companies - DNAsp™ - which is highly flexible and can be configured to meet the specific business processes of our clients. 90% of our system will suit any finishing company however the final 10% can make all the difference to a successful implementation. Our team in China enable us to provide bespoke development and customisation at a fraction of the costs of our competitors so that our clients have a system that meets their exact requirements without making a significant investment.”

Technical Director Dr. Tony Haifeng Guo added that “DNAsp™ was originally developed with the University of Liverpool and King and Fowler following 6 years PhD research with several important objectives:

streamline internal processes and quality documentation including NADCAP/AS9100

manage REACH compliance

optimise shop floor control and throughput proactively manage customer service levels

stand: 69

generate automated performance measures and management reports

simple to use system that can be easily configured and installed

We have recently been awarded two innovation grants from the Technology Strategy Board to bring to the market our UpTime system which provides real-time monitoring of processing plant which is fully integrated with DNAsp™ so that our clients can drive productivity and energy usage”.

Commercial Director Jim Walters explained “I previously worked for NU-PRO as Business Development Director and realised that other systems on the market could not provide me with the information I needed to make informed decisions especially around customer service level adherence which is absolutely critical when trying to grow a business in the finishing sector. Richard showed me one of the latest DNAsp™ innovations which is a business analytics tool called OpenBook I realised this was the future and that I had to join the company. Richard showed me key performance measures and order book status on his mobile and tablet using real- time information that was fully integrated with his DNAsp™ system. This type of technology can really revolutionise communication between special process houses and their clients as OpenBook allows customers to view their order book and monitor quality and service levels. DNAsp™ is very easy to use... even a dinosaur like me can understand how to get the information I need. We can now offer DNAsp™ and OpenBook on some flexible commercial deals including pay-as-you-go monthly fees and leasing arrangements as we recognise that this enables our clients to realise bottom line benefits early on in the process”.

Graham Knowles Managing Director of Halo Aerospace Laboratories in Morecambe stated “when the team first explained that DNAsp™ was installed at companies such as Bodycote and most of the larger surface treatment companies I was concerned that the system would be a sledge hammer to crack a nut. However DNAsp™ has proved to be a very intuitive system that meets our exact requirements and it has provided a solid foundation that has enabled us to grow rapidly but retain control of the business as we have continued to invest in new processes and secure more customer quality approvals. For finishing companies needing to improve internal processes and customer service then DNAsp™ is the best system on the market.”
