and welded vertical forms, made of recycled materials including steel, copper and wire will create a dynamic addition to the garden and river setting. Alongside her show at Thornreed, Fiona will also feature in the SAW/NGS Abundance site- specific commissioned garden trail during Art Weeks – more of which below. but busy knit and crochet accessory business. In an intriguing creative departure, Jan is fully embracing her floral obsession by creating an installation based on a village fete flower tent, the difference being that Jan’s flowers will be made from wool, fabric and objet trouvé. Jane Peck makes jewellery with

textiles and embellishments. Her recent success at the Contemporary Designer-Makers Fair in Highgate, London has won her numerous commissions. Working with high quality retro-inspired fabrics, Jane’s coats and jackets reflect her interest in hand-made 1950s and 1960s clothes – a selection of which will be available during the SAW exhibition. Our final pick from the

programme takes us outdoors for the Abundance Garden Trail, for which seven of Somerset’s most delightful gardens will be the locations for eight dramatic new artworks and installations during Somerset Art Weeks.

The Abundance Trail The National Gardens Scheme (NGS) has teamed up with Somerset Art Works (SAW) to commission eight new dynamic installations within the great gardens of Somerset, in a project funded by Arts Council England. The Abundance Garden Trail will comprise a series of site-specific contemporary commissions, placing these new and challenging works within the cultivated garden landscapes of Somerset. Gardens featured on the trail are: The Walled Gardens of Cannington (near Bridgwater, Sedgemoor), Little Yarford Farmhouse (Kingston St. Mary, near Taunton), Stoke St. Mary Gardens (Stoke St. Mary, near Taunton), Aller Farmhouse (Williton, West Somerset),
