Welcome to the 2013 Southwest Saskatchewan Progress Report

This year, the Progress edition looks at how innovation contributes to the overall economy and culture of the southwest and makes the area unique within Saskatchewan.

Our theme “Rural Innovation” is reinforced through our stories of residents and business owners in southwest communities working to make their towns stronger.

Reporters from Maple Creek News/Maple Creek & Southwest Advance Times, Prairie Post and the Alta. Newspaper Group took the time to travel across the southwest to find out what is making communities unique. From Burstall to Ponteix and Swift Current to Cypress Hills, there is a tremendous effort put forth by those people trying to make ventures work which ultimately contributes to making up what is innovative in the southwest.

The 2012 edition of Progress was recently recognized by the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association and received a second place finish for the Best Special Section in Saskatchewan.

We hope you enjoy the 2013 Southwest Saskatchewan Progress Report.
