JULY 2013 SIGNPOST TO FUNDING VOLUNTARY ACTION EAST LOTHIAN


Voluntary Sector Development Funding 2013-2014 Funding available up to £29,000


The Scottish Govern- ment has confirmed that around £950k will be provided for Voluntary Sector Development Funding (VSDF) to sup- port voluntary sector organisations, regis- tered with the Care In- spectorate to provide social services. Small and medium-sized or- ganisations in particular are encouraged to ap- ply.


VSDF is made available to contribute to the costs associated with meeting required regis- tration qualification cri- teria set by the SSSC and to assist employers in achieving a qualified workforce. VSDF con- tinues to assist with the costs of Scottish Voca- tional Qualifications, Management Awards


The priority groups of


workers which are eli- gible for support through VSDF funding this year, as agreed by Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland (CCPS) Scot- tish Social Services Council (SSSC) and Scottish Government, are as follows:


Staff in Care Home Ser- vices for Adults - Practi- tioners and Support Workers


Staff in Housing Sup- port/Care at Home Ser- vices - Supervisors, Support Workers and Managers. This work- force group is seen as a priority. Priority will be given to funding to Su- pervisors and Support Workers.


Assessors - VSDF is available to support the costs of an assessor qualification for staff


Community Food & Health Scotland


- Annual Development Fund Community Food and Health (Scotland) has an annual development fund (previously known as the annual small grants scheme) open to groups and agencies in Scotland who would like to improve access to, and take up of, a healthy, varied and bal- anced diet. Funding


from £500 to £3000 is available.


The development fund is open to groups and agencies working with- in Scotland’s low- income communities to improve access to, and take-up of, a healthy balanced diet.
