For a change, use tulle/netting

instead of ribbon. Be generous. Take it around the box covering your taped sides. Finish by knotting it on the top of the gift and trim to the desired length. Then spread out the tulle and ‘fluff’ it up a bit.

To create the rosebud, you need

some wired ribbon. I used an ombre pink one. Start by working the wire out of the ribbon at each end, but only on one edge. Encourage the ribbon to gather up towards the middle by gently pushing it along the length of the wire. Be sure to do this from both ends.

Take a piece of wire (mine was

paper-covered) and thread a bead on to it and push it halfway along. Bend the wire at this point and twist the two pieces together, creating the stem.

5

Attach one end of your gathered

ribbon on to the bead, and wrap its fine wire around the stem to secure it. Then gradually wind the gathered ribbon around the bead and you will see the rosebud forming. Finish it by wrapping the remaining fine wire around the stem too. You can now shape the

flower bud to create a form that you like.

Trim the stem to a good length and

curl the end in. Tuck your rosebud into the netting, near the knot.
