Teacher Training Level 2 Certificate in Supporting
Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF) The course will enable you to gain a valuable experience in a primary or secondary school. It gives you the skills and knowledge you need to take part in a range of classroom support activities. You will need to arrange your own placement in a school. You will not be able to start the course unless your placement is
confirmed.There is a practical assessment carried out by a qualified assessor in the work setting. Entry Requirements: College interview and assessment, plus level 1 qualification or equivalent. Possible Steps: Level 3 Childcare courses. Length of course: 36 weeks. You will attend knowledge sessions one day a week and will be in a voluntary setting 3-4 days per week.
Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong
Learning Sector (DTTLS) This course qualifies you for Qualified Teacher, Learning & Skills (QTLS) status. The Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) is for anyone working as or planning to become a full teacher in further, adult or continuing education. Entry Requirements: You should have Level 3 skills in the subject you intend to teach. You’ll need access to 150 hours of teaching practice in a recognised lifelong learning location to earn a diploma. Possible next steps: These diplomas qualify you for Qualified Teacher, Learning and Skills (QTLS) status. You can go on to become a full teacher in further, adult and community education, for example, as a further education lecturer. Or, you could become a full teacher in a work- based learning setting or the voluntary sector. Length of Course: 48 weeks Hours per week: 4 (evening) Cost of Course: £2,500.
Level 4 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector: PTLLS
(QDV60079) The purpose of the qualification is to provide an introduction to teaching adult learning, for all new entrants to the sector. The aim is to equip new teachers with the practical skills and knowledge they need to perform their role and allow them to enter the QTLS (Qualified Teacher, Learning and Skills) framework. Entry requirements: English and Maths at level 2. Possible next steps: PGCE, DTLLS or CELTA. Length of course (weeks): 14 Hours per week: 4
