English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) (continued)
ESOL Entry Level 3 Progression
Pathways: Care This course offers a route for ESOL students wishing to move on to further study. You will improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills while developing vocational knowledge, understanding and experience. You will also have the option to study maths. This course offers work placement in a childcare or health and social care setting. You will take ESOL Skills for Life qualifi cations and an Entry 3 Award in Progression. Entry requirements: College interview and assessment. Possible next steps: Health and Social Care or Childcare courses at the College. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 10
ESOL Entry Level 3 Progression
Pathways: Catering (ESO42196.2.c) This course offers a route for ESOL students wishing to move on to get vocational qualifi cations in catering in the future. You will improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills while developing vocational knowledge, understanding and experience in our training kitchen. You will also have the option to study maths. You will take ESOL Skills for Life qualifi cations and an Entry 3 Award in Steps Towards Enabling Progression. Entry requirements: No previous qualifi cations are required. Your ESOL level will need to be high Entry 2 or Entry 3 at the start of the course. Students need to pay a small amount of money towards the cost of the food in the weekly cooking session. Possible next steps: Higher level catering courses at the College.

ESOL Level 1 Progression Pathways:
Classroom Assistants (ESO42196.2.b) This courses offer a route for ESOL students wishing to move on to work in schools supporting teaching and learning. You will improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills while developing vocational knowledge, understanding and experience. You will also study maths and this course offers work placement in a childcare or classroom assistant setting. You will take ESOL and maths qualifi cations and a Level 1 Award in Progression. Entry requirements: No previous qualifi cations are required. Your ESOL level will need to be Level 1 at the start of the course. You will need to have a DBS check. Possible next steps: Classroom Assistants or Childcare courses.
