Early Years Education Entry Level 3 BTEC Award in Caring for


Children (EYE11506) This is designed for ESOL students who would like to get the basic knowledge and understanding about working with children. The course prepares you for a level 1 course in a childcare environment. Entry requirements: College interview and written assessment. Possible next steps: Level 1 Childcare courses. CACHE Level 1 Diploma in Caring for


Children: QCF (EYE30567) This course is suitable for people who would like a career in working with children. You will undertake a mixture of practical and class-based work. Subjects could include physical activities for children, health and safety and learning through everyday experiences. Maths and English is an important part of the course. Entry requirements: GCSE English at grade E-F or above. Written assessment and an interview. Possible next steps: Level 2 Childcare courses. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 15


CACHE Level 2 Certifi cate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People:


QCF (EYE65222) This course is suitable for people who speak English as a second language (ESOL) and would like to undertake a qualifi cation which will give them the basic understanding of working with children in a childcare environment. The qualifi cation is designed to help you make an informed decision about working with children and young people. As part of the course, you will study safeguarding, child development and respecting and valuing children. You will be expected to achieve a total of 16 credits. Entry requirements: College interview and assessment, plus level 1 qualifi cation or equivalent. Possible next steps: CACHE Level 2 Children and Young People – or depending on your ability, you may be able to enrol onto the CACHE Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce Diploma. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 16


CACHE Level 2 Certifi cate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce:


QCF (EYE10570) This qualifi cation provides you with the knowledge and understanding of child development, safeguarding and information necessary for working with children and young people in a variety of job roles and settings. It prepares you to work in a supervised capacity. To achieve this qualifi cation, you must complete 13 core mandatory units and a selection of optional units to ensure that you achieve a maximum of 35 credits. Entry requirements: College interview and written assessment, plus level 1 qualifi cation or equivalent. Possible next steps: Level 3 Diploma or employment. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 16
