Level 1 BTEC Diploma in Business Administration with IT (Level 1


combination qualification) This basic level course aims to help people gain the skills needed in an office environment. The diploma covers various aspects of administration including creating business documents, welcoming visitors, supporting business meetings and looking at job opportunities in administration. Assessment is through course work by way of assignments that build up to the diploma; IT skills will be developed in all the assignment work. To support the development of the skills needed by today’s employers, you will also study basic English and Maths. Entry requirements: Entry 3 English qualification or assessment results and college interview. Possible next steps: Level 2 Business Administration courses.


Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 12


Administration skills including IT and Media (ASIM: Level 2 combination


qualification) This qualification is suitable for people who wish to gain the essential, generic background and understanding of work roles and responsibilities in the business and administration sector. You will achieve a mixture of mandatory and optional units which will include media and IT as well as administration. You will develop knowledge and understanding of the personal and interpersonal skills required to work effectively in a business environment. You will be required to work in a ‘Model Office’ and complete a range of Admin online assessments, Workskills and IT assignments. You will also study English and Maths. This combination provides high quality industry recognised qualifications. Entry requirements: Suitable Level 1 qualifications, College interview and assessment. Possible next steps: Employment or Administration with IT – Level 3 Certificate. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 12

Instead of going to university, I enrolled on a Business Administration Apprenticeship at HCC. I really enjoyed it, as I learnt valuable skills and got paid at the same time.
