KINGFISHER SETS SIGHTS ON THE GERMAN BEER MARKET

KINGFISHER beer is now available to purchase across Germany with a re-launch of the brand this March. Whilst the German market represents the second largest beer market in Europe, it is also a notoriously hard nut to crack, due to a number of strict

legislative hurdles surrounding both packaging and brewing specifi cations. As a result Kingfi sher has not been actively distributed in this market since 2009, with the company waiting for the right time and the right

Kingfisher and Heineken in tie-up

THE Kingfi sher group has reached an agreement with Heineken, which will in future brew Kingfi sher Beer in the UK on its behalf, as well as handling sales and distribution to selected national retail customers. Heineken will also make packaged Kingfi sher Beer available to its Star Pubs and Bars customers. Kingfi sher will continue to take responsibility for overall brand

has always represented a substantial opportunity for us; one I am very pleased to say we are now able to address. ” Kingfi sher has appointed

Kasierdom Brauerei, based in Bamberg, Western Germany, as its brewing and bottling partners exclusively for the German market. Kaiserdom is a large, regional brewer which produces a number of its own, regional brews as well as brewing and packing for a number of large, international businesses across the world.

Kingfi sher has also appointed Global Food Trading – Germany’s largest ethnic wholesaler – as distribution partners for this market. Global is a hugely successful importer of ethnic foodstuffs as well as having their own range of products which they distribute to over 700 Indian restaurants and over 1,500 ethnic shops across Germany. n
