 The drains at the war memorial junction are causing pooling and traffic hazards after rainfall. The Highways Department has been made aware of this and the issue is to be monitored by the Flood Avoidance Sub-Committee.


 The County Council Highways Department is under complete restructuring due to budget constraints, with many staff reductions. Fortunately our main contact remains in post.


 The County Council 'Transport Delivery Plan' has been published for the coming year. South Cambridgeshire will receive over £100K for upgrading highway infrastructure, with Melbourn Division villages due to receive only reactive potholing and emergency repairs.


 Twenty-four hour compressor noise from Eden Farms at Station Yard is being addressed with an interim solution prior to work completion in June/July.


Village Maintenance  The Parish noticeboards have now been re-erected in the original position opposite the One Stop shop and a refurbished board will be installed near the Whitecroft Road/Elin Way junction.


 Several issues with trees becoming overgrown or obscuring street lighting need to be addressed once ownership has been established. Private owners and the District and County Council may be involved. Investigations are continuing.


 Quotes for playground railings and repairs to the Village Hall car park are still awaited.


 The ditch alongside the recreation ground once again needs clearing of rubbish to ensure free flow of drain water.


 Repositioning of the Whitecroft Road interactive speed sign is to be discussed in a meeting with the Highways Department. Resurfacing of the road near the Jephson site is to be monitored with the contractors who are responsible for making good.


 The Rail User Group request to have the kissing gate removed from the station footpath to facilitate use by the physically impaired will be answered after consultation with the Highways Department. Briefly, there are practical and safety objections to the removal of the existing gate which will be fully explained when replying to the Group.
