Meldreth Matters, June 2013 Editorial

I am writing this in May, on a day when the temperature is not expected to get above 8°C. And it is raining! Last year, we had the wettest summer in England for 100 years. This year, we have had the coldest Easter Sunday on record, the second coldest March on record, the worst March snowfall in 30 years and the coldest April since 1989.

It is not looking good, but one thing we can be sure of is that our two village fetes will go ahead this month. Holy Trinity Church fete will be held on Saturday 15th June, with Meldreth Manor fete being held the following week, on 22nd June. More details of both events are in this issue. Many months of planning go into the fetes, so please support them. And who knows, the sun might just shine!

Kathryn
