In the seventies, during a summer break from college, he toured the galleries of Manhattan. He drew inspiration from the diversity of art and seemingly unbounded creativity he encountered. Taking residence in a New York apartment, he apprenticed with several artisans. After two years of assimilating the necessary skills, he relocated back to Laguna Beach to continue his art studies and establish his own studio. Jon Seeman went to work transforming his conceptual design sketches into reality.
