The company spotlight this month features an article from Tecvac (see page 4).

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Simeon Collins (Sales Director) for inviting me to visit their site in Cambridge. The tour, your time, biscuits and tea were gratefully received!

Tecvac UK, which is part of the Wallwork group of companies, is a family owned business with over 70 members of staff currently employed at the Cambridge base. The company specialise in the aerospace, medical, oil and gas industries. With plans for expansion, Tecvac are looking forward to a year of growth.

Tecvac have so far survived the recession by implementing sound strategies, forward planning and plenty of direct communication with their staff and clients. Throughout these tough times employees were given a say in the future of the company, helping to secure not just Tecvac’s but also their own futures.

I was impressed with the company’s belief in staff retention, they have implemented training schemes, incentive packages and encourage employees to come forward with ideas or suggestions. Each member of staff I was introduced to spoke positively of their role within Tecvac and also of the company as a whole.

Tecvac have a firm belief in Research and Development. They have a very impressive R&D department within the Cambridge site and have employed an experienced and dedicated team to take the department forward. One project they have been working on for eight years is about to proceed.

Along with the extensive R&D department, Tecvac have also invested in new equipment to

cater for a contract they have secured to coat specific parts for a specialist company, this shows Tecvac are a proactive company with big plans for their future.
