Meadowbrook CC and Lake Chesdin GC merge memberships

An investment group formed by members from both Meadowbrook Country Club and Lake Chesdin Golf Club, acquired Lake Chesdin Golf Club for an undisclosed amount. Lake Chesdin was owned by a Canadian based firm called Club Links which owns numerous golf courses in both Canada and the United States.

Both golf courses and facilities are expected to remain open as part of a multi-course membership which management is hoping will provide more value to being a member. Lake Chesdin reportedly has 225 members while Meadowbrook has a little less than 500.

Lake Chesdin Golf Club opened in 1998 as part of the Chesdin Landing upscale housing development in southern Chesterfield County.

Westham Golf Club to add second nine

Trump hires Coore- Crenshaw for former Kluge Estate Golf Course Project

onald Trump first made headlines in central

Virginia over a year ago when he picked up the Kluge Winery and Vineyard at a foreclosure auction for $6.2 million dollars. Later in the fall of 2012 he added Albemarle House, the on-site 45-room 23,000 square foot mansion to his portfolio. Now Trump reportedly has plans to build a championship golf course over the 3000 acre property that is located very near historic Monticello.’s Joe Passov reported

that Trump hired the highly acclaimed golf course architect team of Coore-Crenshaw to build a new golf course on the property. A preliminary routing has been completed according to reports. Trump’s son Eric, president

of Trump Winery, told Passov that the property is perfect for a golf course. “I’ve never seen a piece of land as good as this,” said

Eric Trump. “My father is in love with the place.” Plans are still in the preliminary stages and different scenarios as to how Albermarle House(which can be seen from Carter Mountain Road) will be used if the golf course is built are being explored. Eric Trump mentioned the possibility of the mansion being used as an Inn and added that it will be a “signature element” of the golf course project if it does move forward. Coore & Crenshaw are known for their minimalist design features while many of Trump’s current golf courses are big and bold. It will be interesting to see what transpires on this beautiful and stunning piece of property. The course is expected to be open to the public, although the price to play it may be steep.
