NEW OPTIONS FROM TST I

n Sweden TST has released improvements to two existing products and launched a whole new product. The improvements are on its Hand Protection and Gaiters and the new product is a Waterjet Protective Curtain.

A wider Velcro has made the company’s Hand Protection adjustable for different

sizes and needs, improving function and comfort! When it comes to the gaiters TST have put in reinforcement to keep the gaiters

better in place over the toe cap, thus improving safety. The edge that meets the ground also now has a Kevlar reinforcement band for better durability. Waterjet Protective Curtain is for when you need to protect sensitive equipment, machinery or people from water, waterjetting, gravel spray and ricochets. The company claims the practical curtains can be put together to form a protective wall of any desired length, providing protection up to 3000 bar/43500 psi at 250 mm / 10 in. distance. The sections are easily connected with clever locking mechanisms and are

available as standard in red with warning sign in English and optionally in white, black, yellow, light grey, dark grey, blue and green. They can also be stamped with your own branding and warning signs in another language.

PUTTING SAFETY FIRST Airblast Eurospray (pictured opposite) has introduced a new helmet to their range – the RPB NOVA 2000 Advanced Abrasive Blasting Helmet, is a product which boasts worldwide safety approval including NIOSH, CE and AS/NZS. The helmet features lightweight pillow foam padding for

added comfort and noise reduction; a soft, breathable inner cape which protects against contaminants whilst allowing perfect airflow; and an advanced Air Duct Distribution system which stops the screen from fogging up and keeps workers cool. It also features a UV stabilised, abrasion-resistant shell of high-density polyethylene which means it can resist even the toughest blasting conditions. The NOVA 2000 also comes with a unique fit and

save system of pre-folded, tear-off lenses so that workers can quickly peel off one layer at a time, saving around 45 minutes a day! Airblast secured the contract

to distribute the NOVA 2000 and associated products on behalf of leading manufacturer, RPB Safety, who have more than 40 years of experience in air respirators, airline filters and air monitoring equipment and are an IS09001 certified company.

ADVANCED CUTTING TECHNOLOGY Exova has installed and commissioned a Maxiem 1515/40Hp jet cutting centre, which will give its Salford lab a significant increase in capacity, at a cost of £100,000. The water jet cutting process is a cold cutting / erosion process

which emits no hazardous materials, using water projected through a precision nozzle at very high pressures of 40,000 to 60,000 pounds per square inch. The technology gives the ability to cut virtually any two dimensional shape in most materials including titanium, carbon
