Computer Booters is having another Q & A!

CLUBS AND CLASSES 39

Guest Speaker Carey Holzman with Vice President/Program Director Howard Winkle.

Kc Coller, Publicity Director That’s correct! This time it will be on

things that are wireless. So far this year our club has had the

good fortune to have great guest speakers that have knowledge, education and energy to share with the members at the general meetings. The April meeting was no exception. The meeting began with Rollie Baumann showing a video presentation on “How the Internet Works” plus information on how to view another presentation about “Privacy Invasion.” Both were full of “should know” information. Guest speaker Carey Holzman then

entertained the group with his enthusiastic energy while sharing his computer thoughts and knowledge of Windows. With so many questions being asked during this question and answer type of program the meeting ran a tad over. Thank you Carey, for staying after to answer the questions for those still needing them. Even though the meeting ran late there was still time to give out door prizes.

The last meeting will be on May 7,

before the summer break. With it will be yet another interesting guest speaker, Kevin Barrett of Verizon Wireless. He is a wireless specialist and is currently at the local Fulton Ranch Verizon retail store where

he has helped many of us in the Sun Lakes community. He will not speak “geek” and this will not be a sales presentation. He plans on having two other

representatives with him and all are excited for the opportunity to speak and answer questions with our group about Smartphones, tablets, home phone service and mobile/home internet service.

So

bring your questions and current wireless products along with your curiosity so you can also be part of the program. Products need not be Verizon! There will be no May classes; the

general meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. at the Sun Lakes Country Club in the Arizona Room on Tuesday, May 7. This group was established to aid computer owners in all of the Sun Lakes communities by achieving maximum results from their home or small business computer. It’s easy to join and attend. If you would like further information call or e-mail our Membership Director Guy Laroche at 480-883-0638 or mr1968zeus@ msn.com. Visit our club website at www.

Line Dancing with Judee How could I have gotten through major

surgery so far without the physical help, emotional help, prayers, good thoughts, cards, and e-mails from family, friends and dancing friends? Alone is a frightening thought and I feel for those who are in that position and have health issues. I’m sure it is possible but now I’m counting my blessings that I’ve not been thrown into that category. My husband Al has been rock solid with

his presence in the hospital, now at home taking care of me and encouraging me to get stronger, which I have. After 53+ years, I love him more now than before. Our son’s encouraging words and support from Colorado mean so much. Just hearing his voice has helped immensely. Classmates, friends and dancing friends,

the best! Messages from elementary school day friends have reminded me those friendships since the ‘40s are very special. Friends made before we got here and friends now in Arizona, our home, are blessings now and it’s very comforting to know they are close by. It’s

hard for others to understand

“Dancing Friends,” my students, if you are not a part that life of mine. People who don’t

know me, vice versa, come to me and trust me to teach them to line dance, pay me to do so, then realize how much fun they are having while we are all dancing together. What a wonderful blessing this “escape” is for me and I believe for them as well. All we think of is learning the steps, patterns and dances, the music, dancing, exercising and the problems we have just go away. Well, at least we don’t think about them for a while. It is this area of my world right now that is helping me to get better as fast as my body will allow. Everyone has to have a goal. Mine is to start dancing and teaching again, but at this point I’m not sure exactly when. They all know I will contact them as soon as my body will allow. My mind is there... my body is getting there. If it weren’t for the people mentioned

above, I wouldn’t be as good as I am today. It’s amazing what prayers and support can mean to a person. Body and spirit are lifted with the smallest gesture. The best words I can think of right now are “Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I truly appreciate each and everyone in my life and my world.” 

The film for the first Kodak camera was 2¾ inches wide, or 70 millimeters. Kodak has been manufacturing 70-millimeter film continuously since 1888.
