19th Annual Ice Cream Social a great success

GENERALS 23

This beautiful doll was a donation for the silent auction from Dolly Dressers. The successful high bidder was a mother who was so excited to give it to her daughter who was not in attendance.

Dee Rasmussen The Board of Sun Lakes Charities thanks

everyone for their continued interest and participation on the spring Ice Cream Social. This year the event was held on Palm Sunday on a great sunny day - perfect for those dishes of delicious Blue Bell ice cream, root beer fl oats and the heavenly Paradise Bakery cookies. Blue Bell donated all varieties of their famous ice cream and Paradise Bakery donated fi ve different types of cookies, all to die for, of course!! Approximately 1,000 ice cream lovers

browsed the silent auction, bidding on fantastic items this year donated by many businesses and individuals. The big raffl e item this year was a Modern Flames electric fi replace donated by Brooksies on Arizona Avenue. Until you see this fi replace, you would have no idea how handsome and real it is! Brooksies also donated many barbeque items and condiments. Brooksies has everything you need for your own barbeque! You must visit their store! This year’s grand prize winner was Betty Manovsky, a resident of Palo Verde! Lowes Hardware donated fi ve fantastic

kitchen appliances for the silent auction which were all popular items. One of the most popular items on the auction was a gorgeous doll complete with her suitcase of clothes and a little wicker chair donated by Dolly Dressers! The high bidder was truly a happy mom, anxious to get the doll home to her daughter! Sun Lakes Charities again thanks Coulter

Motor Company-Tempe for their sponsorship of our great event. Coulter Motor Company is always there for us. The Kids Korner was jammin’ with lots

of youngsters here for the Easter festivities to take place the following week. Lots of happy painted faces! Sun Lakes Charities is so thankful to the

many businesses that enable us to fulfi ll our desire to help others such as Neighbors Who
