A work of dramatic tension and intrigue comes to City College and Sheringham Little Teatre this month as Second Side produce and perform ‘Blackout’ by Davey Anderson. Te show will get its debut at City College’s Platform Teatre on Friday 12th April, followed by a date at Sheringham Little Teatre the following week on Friday 19th April. ‘Blackout’ is the true story of a teenager charged with attempted murder who tries to piece together the events in his life that brought him into a secure care unit and threaten to keep him there. In a highly imaginative fusion of scripted dialogue, visual imagery, physicality and live and recorded music, the troubled teenager James, wakes to find himself in a police cell, with no memory of how or why he is there. Davey Anderson’s play tells the true story of a young lad whose fight back against the bullies could easily have been the stuff of legend. Except that he chose to fight the bullies on their own terms, finding a role model in Hitler and swapping his own maligned look for a skinhead and braces. Having wowed local audiences, and received countless positive audience reviews, Norfolk- based Second Side are delighted to be able to present this thought-provoking production on its small scale tour of Norfolk. Do you ever feel that inside of you, there’s a brighter, more vibrant, rested and pampered version of yourself, just screaming to get out? It doesn’t have to be the stuff of dreams anymore – you need to unleash your Alter Ego. Tis isn’t just a figure of speech, as you’ll discover if you venture to the place of the same name itself, Alter Ego at Chellies T Room. Tucked behind the busy Dereham Rd is the more tranquil Heigham St, and set back from the road is an oasis of pampering joy. Having opened a year ago, they’ve made a name for themselves by offering the full wish-list of services; hair, beauty and holistic treatments. It’s easy to feel the stresses melt away even thinking about it. Te big news from the Alter Ego camp is their new range of colours, from Goldwell’s Elumen range. Te range is the first ammonia- free, peroxide-free permanent colour range, and aside from the science, it’s not lacking anything in the colour department either. Te colour process may be subtle and safe, but the colours break all the rules, offering normal shades, as well as fashion colours, including pink, green, blue… it’s only as limited as your imagination.
