Readers Write An Old Love

How your spaces sing to me of freedom, sheep worn paths. Ways of secretness and guile, sky so wild and vast.

As children see so I have seen your truth and honest ways. Tough love ever present mysterious as leys.

Beauty in your cruelness shines bewitching us with charms. Sitting in the landscapes folds quaint little market towns.

Yet, when the sun shines on your brow when your cloak is green and fine, excitement runs in every stream, then moorland, you are mine.

Wendy I Yelland. THE NATIONAL RAIN DAY

A day to relax and wear a brightly coloured sou’wester with oil- skin to match, yellow, green, red or blue - Pull on co-ordinating wellies and jump in a puddle, or two -

All the shopping malls will be closed, and everyone will wear a smile to chase away their woes - Letting their spirits rise as they lose their inhibiting ways - Soft rain falls Where? It glistens on leaves left over from the autumn breeze, It puddles the earth, wrinkles the ocean, asking the question: Soft rain falls Where?

On beaches, rocks and gravel lining the shore where it beckons, then turns and hides from my eye, momentarily to be seen no more,

Soft rain falls Where? On driftwood, reaching out, caressing an ageless vision, Soft rain falls But, where? Upon the artisan slopes of nature’s exhibition.

Beverley Beck Love is fear

I am watching the night creep over the town The heart of my soul is wearing a frown The stars and the moon are screaming to me A dimensional warning that I cannot heed

The silence is eerie, foreboding and dark An invisible sound, a pounding in my heart Adrenalin shaking my fear to the sky The air feels as cold as an angel that died

Excited but scared I am hoping and thinking Feeling and dreaming and wishing yet sinking Clouds of despair are making me weak Hiding the path that I longingly seek

Spellbound I am watching a world that’s illuminate Shivering, waiting, numb and quite desperate Shiny pink hearts fall in drops from above Bewitched and enchanted, I am falling in love.
