Country Gardener Great Days Out


Country Gardener magazine and TV gardener and author Toby Buckland have joined together to offer readers the chance to join us at exclusive gardening days out this summer at the wonderful setting of Powderham Castle in Devon.


Each day will be hosted by Toby at his new Plant Centre at Powderham and will have a separate popular gardening theme for each day out.


They include a ‘Masterclass’ by Toby, an exclusive visit to his nursery, Victorian greenhouse and behind-the-scenes trial beds; entrance and an escorted guide to Powderham Castle; lunch at Powderham Castle and the chance to spend some time back at the Plant Centre, Country Store and Farm Shop.

Toby Buckland at Powderham


Toby is a lifelong gardener with a passion for the outdoors. Although Toby is best known for his time on BBC Gardeners' World, other TV credits include BBC's Garden Magic, Home Front in the Garden, UKTV's Weed It and Reap, and as resident kitchen-garden expert on Great Food Live. He and his wife Lisa opened the Plant centre on the Powderham Estate in March last year.


Where is Powderham?


The Plant Centre is at Powderham Country Stores on the Powderham Castle Estate on the A379 between Exeter and Dawlish at Kenton. Plant Centre sells plants grown on the nursery, along with seasonal bedding plants, planted pots and baskets, shrubs, climbers and gardening gifts.

fascinating walk through the castle's majestic rooms. Outside there are acres of space to discover and explore. The castle is set in the middle of a deerpark, home to around 600 fallow deer.
