Plum Hill rang in the New Year with a three-day sale on, a highly suc- cessful sale that kept Kissman on her toes and shipping non-stop for three days.

Plans for 2013 are proving to be just as stimulating. Kissman is bringing Body But- ters back, and a new scent will be released in April. Also, the introduction of a cos- metic bag is in the works, and she will begin working with Mariposa labs in Boise.

Plum Hill has also been seen on Open, a web site where celebrities can recommend some of their favorite things. Who is recommending Plum Hill? Alicia Silverstone.

This one-woman operation is growing. Kissman’s daughter, Kelly Johnson, has taken over marketing and has been invited to a monthly segment for Plum Hill on Good Things Utah. Long-time friend Val Jones continues to help with shows, an em- ployee has been hired to help with ship- ping, and there are plans to hire a do it all office person.

I asked Kissman what she would do with free time. She smiled and said, “Create more products.”

Kissman is so gracious and down to earth; a little bit of her goodness surely translates into her products. One of the ultimate goals she would like for her business is to donate to the prevention of cruelty to ani- mals, help to eliminate puppy mills, and rescue older, unwanted golden retrievers.

Where you can obtain Plum Hill products? They are sold online at as well as countless other websites. Here is an inside tip for residents of the Treasure Valley: If you order online, at checkout you can click ‘Will Call’ and pick your order up at Eagle Day Spa to save yourself a shipping fee.

Plum Hill offers four memorable scents: Coconut Lime, Cranberry Orange, Island Woods and Winter Vanilla. Later this year, seasonal Winter Vanilla will be re- placed with a new scent. It’s top secret, but judging from past successes, how can it be anything but remarkable?

A new Meridian business has gone to the dogs! Dog lovers will want to check out Camp Bow Wow’s award-winning formula of safety and all-day fun for canine “campers” and bring their pups in for a “sniff test.” The new camp is located at 2134 E. Franklin Road, (between Eagle Road and Locust Grove). Call 208-887-0010 to schedule a tour and “sniff test,” and receive a free day of doggy daycare.

This upscale, dogs-only facility was designed with your pups’ safety in mind and really gives dogs something to bark about! Dogs reap the benefits of exercise and socialization while having lots of fun romping and playing with their canine friends.

“Camp Bow Wow offers more than a boarding solution or daytime break for pet parents. We give you peace of mind,” said Beth Peterson, who owns the business with her husband Greg. “Dogs are often our first — or only — ‘children’ and are con- sidered a member of the family. When they are with us, we treat them like one of our own.”

The camp offers Doggy Day Camp and overnight boarding. Campers play all day in large indoor/outdoor play yards monitored by Red Cross Certified Camp Counselors and are segregated by size and energy level. Pet parents can check in on their furry friends at any time via live camp webcams.

Overnight guests sleep in private, comfortable cabins, get special bedtime “camp- fire treats” and enjoy classical music all night.

“It’s fun to watch returning campers arrive,” said Peterson. “They know exactly where to go and can’t wait to play. Their guardians routinely tell us what a difference the experience makes at home — the dogs are less restless and better-behaved.”

The camp’s official grand opening festivities begin March 5 (ribbon cutting at 1:45p.m.) with fun events throughout the month. An online benefit auction for Meridian Valley Animal Shelter, Spay Neuter Idaho Pets (SNIP) and Fuzzy Pawz Rescue kicks off March 9 and can be accessed via

The Petersons opened their first Camp Bow Wow location in Southeast Boise in 2008 (3430 S. TK Avenue).
