Athletes of the Month


Jordan Salahor & Nick Josephs


The Kelowna Chiefs were looking for more offensive punch, while Jordan Salahor (No. 21) and Nick Josephs (No. 18) were in need of a confidence builder. It was a match made in hockey heaven. It was while the Chiefs were trudging along in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League with a 4-7 record in mid-October that Josephs arrived on the scene from Alberta.He had just been a late release of the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior A Hockey League. Meanwhile, Salahor, beginning his third season with the Chiefs, was off to a rela- tively sluggish start with two goals and seven assists in the team’s first 11 games. Teamed up immediately by astute


coach Ken Andrusiak, Josephs and Salahor found a comfort level immedi- ately. In their second game together, Josephs scored three times and “Sally” drew two assists. The rest they say . . .
