READERS RESPOND WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY

I DO I’ve been married for 12 years, so I have

QUESTION ABOUT GONZALES Hi Blythe, I was reading another edition of

your great Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living, and ran across the page honoring our local news people. I was struck by the comment, “We also hope another fine and generous anchor, Mike Gonzales, gets snatched up soon!” One day he was there and the next day he was gone and nothing was said. As regular viewers of KXLY, my wife and I witnessed vast improvement in Mike’s on air appeal. He and Nadine were a perfect compliment. What happened? Thank you for your reply. Editor’s response: Mike, we are not sure what

happened to Mike Gonzales, nor why he is no longer on KXLY. We do have many great news reporters and anchors here in Spokane, and they start to feel like family when you spend an hour with them each day, which makes it all the more difficult when they are suddenly gone. Mike was one of the best, and whatever his future holds or wherever it takes him, we are wishing him great success!! Mike Gonzales, if you see this, keep us posted on where you are!

WHAT I KNOW Loved Amy Knapton’s “What I Know”

write-up. She does a great job running Vanessa Beehan Crisis Nursery. Thanks for her great words.

no need to think about wedding planning, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying your wedding planning article (How to Plan a Wedding in the Inland Northwest, February 2013). It was fun to look through and read all of the ideas, and then think about what I would do differently. With the introduction of Pinterest and wedding blogs, like the one written by the author of this article, it seems like there are a million different creative things to make a wedding unique these days. I look at some of those wedding blogs just for fun, and get excited about the thought of what I would do if I were to plan my wedding again. The one thing I know for sure I wouldn’t change about my wedding is the man I married! All of the creative touches in the world can’t compare to the blessing it is to pick the right person. I know that wasn’t on your list, but I wanted to put in my two cents and remind readers and any engaged couples out there to remember what the most important details are when planning a wedding: the right person and unwaivering commitment.

SMASHING SUCCESS I am a huge fan of the TV show Smash,

and I am even more excited to watch it now that I know a Spokane local will be appearing on it. I caught Sophia Caruso in The Miracle Worker as well as Annie. She’s a talented little spitfire with a bright future ahead of her. Good luck Sophia, you will be a smashing success indeed!

VINTAGE STYLE I adore going to Chaps restaurant as often

as possible. Part of what I love so much is the beautiful interior. Seeing that same style played out in owner Celeste Shaw’s featured home was incredible. Can I move in?!
