clinics for the most common cancers including breast, urologic (prostate, bladder and kidney), lung and GI. Tis integrated, multidisciplinary approach for patients and their families provides a collective best course of treatment for each patient. Before beginning treatment, Rockwood providers meet to discuss options then meet privately with each patient and their family to discuss recommendations and address questions and concerns. Te goal is that you and your family are comfortable with your treatment plan. Rockwood Clinic also offers nurse navigation to enhance the patient experience. A nurse navigator is a patient educator and advocate, care coordinator, system navigator and community ambassador that works to serve as a gateway to the Rockwood Health System. Te nurse navigators are also a support system for the patient and his/her family at the time of diagnosis, after and through treatment. Survivorship is a unique phase of the care continuum that cancer patients enter after treatment is complete. Rockwood Health System offers a survivorship clinic whereby patients are given a treatment summary outlining all surgeries, medications, potential side effects, etc., from their cancer treatment. A care plan is provided for patients to facilitate ongoing care and communication to future caregivers. Remarks Kim Ward, RN - RHS oncology director: “I have worked in oncology for most of my professional career. Our team, including physicians, nurses, medical assistance, schedulers, social workers and receptionists, are some of the most caring, competent providers the Spokane community has to offer.”
