Don’t give up!

At this time of year, it might be good for some of us to remember that age-old phrase “if at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again”. Many will by now have broken those sincere New Year resolutions and slipped back into our old ways again. But it’s too easy to just give up and put it down to human weakness.

In this edition, the message is clear: Don’t give up! On page 16, women’s champion Gok Wan, offers some helpful tips on staying fit and healthy in 2013, and although those well intentioned New Year Resolutions may now be a distant memory, we can still pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and start all over again.

So, with this in mind, I’m adding an addendum to my New Years Resolution - “If I break this year’s resolution, I’m not going to give up, but I’m going to start again” - Now let’s see if I can break that one!

With all the Christmas clutter long gone, thoughts turn to springtime and tackling those constantly postponed jobs in the house and garden. Does the thought of tiling your kitchen or bathroom scare you? (it did me) With the right tools and a little bit of knowledge, it’s not as difficult as you might imagine, so how about reading our article on page 18 and letting your imagination run wild? If it’s the garden you’re turning your thoughts to, who better to offer us some worthwhile advice than Stewart’s own John Hawkins. So if you’re wondering what variety of tomatoes to try or whether you can grow vegetables in a box, turn to page 20 for the lowdown on all things green-fingered.

Until the next time, Jason Harris, Editor
