CLASS NOTES Ed Sammons ’73

Ed Sammons and Stephen Cuffel visited Mark Bocek in Seattle recently for two days of catching up. Great food, stories, discussions, and laughter prevailed as memories unfolded and future plans were hatched.

I walked our only daughter, Ashley, down the aisle on August 11 for her marriage to Christopher McClellan. Both are 2012 graduates of the University of Oregon.

Neal Goren ’75

Neal married Lewis Jacobsen in Catskill, New York, on May 20, 2012, at a painting studio that used to be a Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jacobsen, 57 (left), is an architect in New York. He graduated from the University of Washington and received a master’s degree in architecture from Columbia. Mr. Goren, 53, is the founding artistic director and the conductor of the Gotham Chamber Opera company in New York. He teaches vocal performance at Mannes College the New School for Music in New York. He has been a panelist on broadcasts of the Metropolitan “Opera Quiz.”

Jane Honeyman Rude ’75 After many years of living anywhere

but Oregon, my family and I have finally returned to the great Pacific Northwest! We’ve purchased a fun little log home on almost 10 acres between Sisters and Tumalo with killer mountain views. My husband, Doug, is semi-retired, working three days a week as a clinical pharmacist for a home IV infusion service in Bend and spends his free time playing golf. Thanks to telecommuting, I have been

able to retain my position as business manager for the Center on Philanthropy (soon to be School on Philanthropy) at Indiana University. I also stay busy riding and competing on my three horses. Daughter Jessica made the move with us and just gave birth to our first grandson!

Tracy Wong ’77

My wife, Jennifer, and I spent some time with President Obama on the campaign trail in Seattle. A big thrill! My advertising agency, WDCW (Wong, Doody, Crandall, Wiener), appeared on the season premiere of AMC’s “The Pitch,” a docu-series about the advertising business which followed their series “Mad Men.” We still live in Seattle with children Lily, 9, and James, 6. Eldest daughter Cydney attends college in Los Angeles.
